TENT FUMIGATION COSTS ORANGE COUNTY

What is Fumigation?

  • Fumigation is a method of controlling termites by spraying your home with gaseous pesticides. It generally involves four steps.
  • First, cover your home with a large rubber tent. Tenting prevents gaseous pesticides from getting into the air and contains them being released.
  • To begin the process of eradication, fumigates are released into your home.
  • Gas pesticides are kept in your tented house for several days to eliminate all infestations.
  • Your home has been ventilated. You can move in after the house has been deemed safe and air quality tested.

Residential homes rarely require tent fumigations. However, there are times when traditional methods of termite treatments are not effective in eliminating pests from your home. Fumigation is the only way to get rid of termites and carpenter ants that have burrowed into your foundation.

A termite infestation and Termite treatment Review

If you suspect that your home has an active termite infestation, you must contact a pest management company. These companies provide quick and effective treatments to address the problem. These are some signs you should look out for if you suspect that you may have termite problems.

  • Subterranean termites are distinguished by pencil-thin mud tunnels that run through your crawl space or foundation.
  • Damp wood covered with dried mud and dirt
  • Bulging floors, ceilings, or walls
  • Pinholes made of thin sawdust

How to prepare for fumigation

  • Fumigation is a process that requires planning. These are some things you need to remember before your home is fumigated.
  • If your home is not habitable due to fumigation, make arrangements for lodging.
  • To allow fumigants into every corner, open the interior doors of your home and raise the blinds.
  • All perishable and nonperishable food items should be moved to an alternate location.
  • To prevent chemical damage, cut back any plants or other foliage within three feet of your house.
  • You can schedule the restoration and shut-off of your gas service.
  • It would be best to make arrangements to transport any vehicles during fumigation.

Fumigation is not the only option for pest control.

Several termite control options can be used in place of tent fumigation. There are viable options, but some infestations are too severe and complex to treat anything other than fumigation.

These are some alternatives to termite fumigation.

Heating: This heat treatment involves enclosing your home in a tent and heating it to 120 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a safe and effective treatment for termite colonies. Heating can cause irreparable damage to personal property, so it’s crucial to remove them before you start treatment.

Spot Treatment: Spot treatment involves drilling small holes in the infestation and injecting termiticides. Although this is typically less expensive than fumigation or heating, it may require multiple treatments. Spot treatment is only effective for termites in a small area.

Electrogun: This treatment uses high frequencies to kill termites and penetrate the wood. Although this treatment is simple, it can only be used in specific areas.

Microwave -As with electro-gun treatment for termite infestations, microwave treatment can be used to treat them. The microwave treatment directs powerful microwaves to the area infested, heating the wood and killing the termites.

Does tenting a house for termites really work?

The tent prevents the poison gas from entering the home and allows it to penetrate all parts of the house, including the wood timbers. Tenting can be highly effective in eliminating a termite infestation that is stubborn or difficult to access.

How to get rid of termites?

There are various termite treatments like Orange Oil Treatment, localized treatment, and Tent Fumigation to remove active termite infestations. If you are looking for 100% termite control, then tent fumigation is the only way to remove all termites in the entire house. Why?

Because when your home is fully tented with a fumigant, it will enter into every crevice in your house where a local treatment can never even reach all the termites. If you see termite damage and wood rot, it’s essential to take care of it immediately because termite’s colonies can do significant damage.
